Travelling with Tuscany vacation rentals is one of the best ways I would recommend for easy, enjoyable holidays. Before, there never used to be so many different services offered that you could rent. Instead of just relying on public transport such as expensive taxis or having to queue up for buses which do not even take you exactly to where you need to go, you now have all kinds of car rental cars and companies. And before, the variety of accomodations was basically limited to hotels, whereas nowadays, there is an endless list of vacation rental lodgings, especially in the Tuscany area.
One of the most useful Tuscany rentals I booked first and well in advance was a car. I wanted to make sure that my Tuscany tours would be complete and I would be able to get around into every nuck and cranny of one of the most precious Italian areas in the Toscana province. As a choice of where I would stay, I looked into some holiday villas and found a 14th century residence in Lucca, just a short drive from Pisa where I had landed at the Galileo Galilei airport. The Romea, as it was called, had a nice guarded parking area and I was taken to my acommodations in a mini-bus. I immensely enjoyed the city and music festival that was being held during my stay in July. In this enchanting city you have another type of Tuscany vacation rentals that can make your tour around the city walls very pleasureable- a rented bicycle.
Tuscany Tours Galore
From Lucca , I followed the Serchio River up north for about 45 kilometres until you see the sign for Castelnouvo of Garfagnana ( road SR 445 ), looking for a smaller road marked 72 to Radici, then towards Pieve Fosciana and onto Sillico and through an unpaved road to a magnifcient farmhouse called La Locanda del Moro. This beautiful valley is one of the most relaxing paradises for long strolls, horseback riding or other country activities and the friendly hospitality offered at the holiday villas like this one. From here you can also do trekking in the nearby Alpuanos Alps where I was able to fill my photo album with awesome views of the Litugia Sea. At the tourist information booth I picked up a map called Alpi Apuane Settentrionali which helped me to plan my walking tuscany tours.
All of the Italian provinces have me completely mesmerized, especially the lovely Tuscany vacations rentals and the great capital, Rome. I will return!
