Beautiful Landscapes at Farm Holidays in Tuscany

Beautiful landscapes are what farm holidays in Tuscany are all about. When people see the word ‘farm’, they automatically think of animals and hard work, but I can assure you that the farms that are offered all over Italy, especially in the Florence, Pisa and Chianti area of Tuscany are quaint and very tranquilizing. In the inland area, at the foot of the Appennine mountains and near what used to be an Etruscan city, Arrezzo offers a wide spectrum of farm holiday accomodations in Tuscany.

Farm Holidays in Tuscany are Revigorating

In my search for this type of housing I came across IL Capanno and I am so glad that I followed my intuition and stayed there. In the valley, near the town of Castiglion Fiorentino, the IL Capanno property is found, with four cutely named apartments tucked away among oak and olive trees. I had bragged so many times to some friends of mine about Italy that two other couples decided to share this relaxing italian holiday, so we stayed in the apartment called Noceto. We had a sofa bed, one twin bedroom and one double, a sitting area, dining room and a cozy , comforting fireplace. We really wanted to feel nature so we joined in all activities such as grape and olive collecting, some cooking classes, painting and of course Italian courses. I always did like the saying, “ When in Rome, do as the Romans”!

But let me clue you in on some details that I hadn’t realized when doing my budget so that this does not happen to you.

In general, when doing vacation rentals;

  • rental is from Saturday to Saturday
  • entry is usually at 7 p.m. and check-out at 9 a.m. more or less
  • fee for final cleaning is not included – could be from 50 to 100 euros
  • telephone calls are also not included- could be about .15 cents per hour and about 2 euros for internet
  • if the lodging offers, for example 4 + 2 that means that two extra beds can be put in and there is an additional charge. If booked in advance there is no extra charge
  • ½ the rentals fee when booking plus about 300 euros for security deposit
  • if you cancel out 60 days in advance, all will be refunded, but if not you lose it all.
  • many DO offer to either pick you up at nearest train, bus and even airport-depending on the distance

I have now been to Italy and especially to the Tuscany area quite a few times and there are always new experiences to discover, whether you stay in the city or do a farm holiday in Tuscany.
